My business trip to France!
Well, I finally did it! I stepped foot in Europe for the first time in my life on my business trip to France! I’ve been all around Asia, but Europe is such a different vibe! Let’s just say I will be going back sooner rather than later! France had me smitten with its coffee, sidewalk cafes, and endless baked goods. Oh, and I was there for business too…
Speaking of that, there was a lot of business to be had. First off, I checked off a photography bucket list item! Photographing a wedding in Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Holy pinch me moment! Like, this is my job….MY JOB!! I’m not sure I’ve come down off that high yet. I kind of hope I never do.
That’s what I want to talk to you about regarding my business trip to France. Your business trips don’t have to be those boring corporate trips where it’s all business and 30 mins of lunch for ‘play time’. Your business trip should include business, yes BUT it should also include exploration and play. Why? Because that’s when the good ideas come to any innovator, entrepreneur, or simply a human! When you let your brain loose to wander about the streets, sparking creativity with the sights, sounds, and smells of a new place. Changing up the scenery in your business can give you the spark you need to launch your next idea!
In fact, Paris did just that for me. My next idea hit me after chatting with a group of fellow entrepreneurs. I came up with The Marketing Blueprint. I had a conversation about how hard it is to figure out your marketing as an entrepreneur and how they wished they had a guide for what to do. It hit me. I could impact small businesses in a powerful way.
For your next business trip, schedule in playtime. Time to freely chat with people, let your mind explore the new surroundings, and keep your eyes delighted in the inspiration all around you.
